Give Thanks to the Lord

1 Chronicles 16:34-35: “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Say also: ‘Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

Greetings!! For the Day

Let us move to our journey in the season of Thanksgiving

The key to unlocking a heart of gratitude and overcoming bitterness and ugliness and disrespect and violence is strong belief in our God we serve. Everything received with thanksgiving created by God is good, and nothing can be rejected.

The very presence of thanksgiving points to the Holy Spirit as the source of thanksgiving because without the work of the Spirit it is impossible to please God.

Hence We should be particular about….

1.    Thanking God continuously throughout your day. …

2.    Always pray with a thankful heart for all blessings. .even if these are minor success in your sight….. as nothing is possible without God.

3.    Give thanks for God’s love even when you don’t find circumstances comfortable.

My friends as I have previously said that we should Giving thanks in all circumstances which is especially difficult while undergoing some suffering. Yes how can we be thankful when there’s something that hurting is going on in life be it a debt, a bad relationship, a bad career, joblessness.Remember our suffering is not punishment; God has a purpose in everything.

Sometimes due to a routine work we forget to give thanks for the food, family members and friends. Giving thanks is not a practice to be reserved for Thanksgiving Season each year. It has a deep down spiritual significance and gratitude keeps our eyes focused on God, the source of all good gifts. It keeps our hearts open, to accept the fruits of the Holy Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness…………………your promotions have reservations when you desire same in your thanksgiving prayers.

The Book of Psalms shows us what it means to be thankful, even in times of fear, sadness, and grief.

A heart full of gratitude draws our eyes away from pain, terror, and anxiety of loss and helps us focus on the gifts of this world, it helps us in moving forward.

Paul rightly said in book of Romans –

Romans 5:3-5 “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us”

Giving thanks is so much more than saying “thank you” when someone does something nice for us. Thanksgiving is how we should respond to God’s goodness in our life; gratitude is what we feel in the depths of our heart. It is the well by which we can draw expressions of thanksgiving for everything good.

Let Us Pray-

God of all blessings, source of all life, giver of all grace, We thank you for the gift of life, for the breath that sustains life, for the food of this earth that nurtures life, for the love of family and friends without which there would be no life. We thank you for our families, for friends who love us.
